The national forest park is the classic Zhangjiajie experience, with sandstone pillars, forest paths, elevators, cableways, and viewpoints. Tianmen Mountain is a separate highlight with cliff paths, a cable car, and the famous mountain gate. The glass bridge area can be added if it fits your route and comfort level.
Weather Strategy
Weather is part of the Zhangjiajie experience. Mist can create the floating-mountain look, but heavy fog can hide entire viewpoints. Keep your schedule flexible, start early, and avoid making one single viewpoint the whole reason for the trip. Rain gear and shoes with grip are useful.
